Organization Info

Clinic Vols was started in 2003 by the clinic chairs of Beaumont, Green Magnet, and Inskip.  They were trying to unite the inner city school clinics by creating an organization that could effectively recruit student volunteers to staff the clinics.  Now, our organization's volunteers successfully staff all three school clinics during the entire school day.

Our organization is perfect for pre-health or nursing majors who would like some meaningful health-related volunteer work.  It is a very rewarding opportunity.  You can volunteer as much or as little as your schedule allows, and the schools are all located within 10 minutes of campus.  Working with the Knoxville area Red Cross, we work in the clinic as a student school nurse and take care of kids who aren't feeling well, call parent's, and give the children some needed attention.

There are a few requirements to become a member of Clinic Vols.  First, you must fill out an application and turn in the Mission Statement of Understanding.  Second, all volunteers must take the Red Cross school health class, which will be offered on campus during the week after applications are due.  Third, a one-time fee of $20 is due for first time members.  This covers the Red Cross training class, Clinic Vols T-shirt (must be worn while volunteering), and nametag.
