To provide a small ensemble setting for trumpet players in which to improve blend, balance, pitch, style, rhythm, listening skills, and any other basics of good ensemble playing.
To provide performance opportunities for small groups of from 2 to 20 trumpeters.
To become familiar with trumpet music of differing styles, including music from the Renaissance, Baroque, Romantic, and Classical periods, and from the 20th and 21st centuries. There will be music originally written for trumpets and also transcriptions.
To provide performance opportunities on the different instruments trumpeters may be asked to play, including trumpets in B flat, C, D, E flat, Piccolo trumpets in A/B flat, cornets, flugelhorns, etc.
To provide festive music for ceremonial occasions on campus and in the East Tennessee region.
You must prepare the parts assigned to you, be at rehearsal on time with the appropriate instrument(s), music, and a pencil. If you cannot be at rehearsal you MUST let t he instructors know, and if possible, send your folder.
