EXPORTING YOUR MOVIE

You're done with your first movie! Now what do you do with it? You have several options with iMovie. You can save it as a Quick Time movie with several options or record it back to tape if you're working on a DV iMac with a digital video camera. Quick Time movies can be viewed by anyone who has the free Quick Time player, and can be added to web pages or saved on a CD or iDVD.

Full Screen View:

Full screen view gives you a good idea of what your movie is going to look like. It may still appear a little jerky, but that will be taken care of once you export it to Quick Time or back to the camera.

Press the Home key on your keyboard. This will move the playhead to the beginning of your movie. Use the Play Movie Full Screen button to preview your movie.

  1. Check your movies for any final adjustments to be made. As long as you don't delete your original movie folder that iMovie created for you, you can easily modify and resave your film. However, since the movie folder contains your raw digital footage and takes up a lot of hard drive space, you'll want to delete it when you're finally done.
  2. While your movie project is open, go to File — Share.
  3. Choose the option that you want to export.
