
Cry Africa is a ministry that our Chi Alpha partners with to help raise funds to fight the AIDS crisis in Africa. The funds we raise go through Speed the Light to help buy all-terrain vehincles packed with medical supplies, information about how to stop the spread of AIDS and information about how to know Jesus Christ.

Over the summer Chi Alpha students at the University of Tennessee have been challenged to ask friends and family to help them fill as many Coke and Pringles cans as possible with change to help raise money for Cry Africa. It is our hope to bring in $5,000 by next fall to help stop the spread of AIDS in Africa.
On Saturday, October 20, 2007 we will be holding our 3rd Annual March for Africa 5k Run/ 5k Walk to benefit Cry Africa on the University of Tennessee campus. The March will take place in the Humanities Plaza Walkway at the University of Tennessee Campus. The 5k Run/ Walk will begin at 9:00 a.m. Late registration will begin the day of the event at 8:00 a.m. .
The cost of the event will be $20.00 before October 5th and $25.00 late registration. To receive a copy of the March for Africa entry for, please email chialpha@utk.edu. A t-shirt will be provided for all early registrants and to late registrants as supplies last.
Prizes will be provided for the top male and female race winners. There will also be lots of giveaways for event participants. Breakfast will be provided for all race participants and volunteers.
