Admissions Information

Undergraduate Admission requirements for the College of Education, Health and Human Sciences:

  • An entering freshman that applies to the College of Education, Health and Human Sciences will be admitted as a pre-major.
  • If the student is seeking admission from another UT college, a minimum of a 2.3 GPA for courses taken at The University of Tennessee is required. However, it is important to note that several programs of study require a higher GPA for progression.
  • For transfer students who have taken courses at another two- or four- year college or university, a minimum of a 2.3 GPA is required. However, it is important to note that several programs of study require a higher GPA for progression.
  • Progression into the major is achieved after students have completed the progression requirements for their specific major. Click HERE to view the progression requirements for your major.
  • For admission to Teacher Education programs at The University of Tennessee, a student must have a combined minimum GPA (including transfer work) of a 2.7 and either a score of a 22 on the Enhanced ACT, 1020 SAT (Revised version) or successful completion of Praxis 1:PPST (minimum scores must be achieved) in order to interview for admission to the program.
