David Brian Alley
David has been a regular performer at the Clarence Brown Theatre as an artist in residence for the past seven years and is a member of the UT Theatre faculty. He has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theatre and an MFA in Theatre/Performance from UT. He also trained at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in Los Angeles. David earned his Actor’s Equity Card at the Mark Taper Forum in Los Angeles in 1990, and appeared at The ImprovOlympic Theatre in Chicago. CBT credits include The Woman in Black, Inherit the Wind (Hornbeck), The Glass Menagerie (Tom), The Rainmaker (File), All in the Timing, Art (Yvan), Oliver!, Midwives, Buried Child (Tilden), To Kill a Mockingbird (Bob Ewell), The Dresser (with John and JD Cullum), Anna Karenina, Metamorphoses, Arsenic and Old Lace (Mortimer), A Christmas Carol, Stones in His Pockets (Charlie); Born Yesterday (Eddie); A Flea in Her Ear. Playmaker’s Rep credits: Stones in His Pockets. His film and TV credits include It’s a Miracle, Unsolved Mysteries, The Heart is Deceitful, and Gina: An Actress, Age 29, which won the 2001 Short Film Jury Award at the Sundance Film Festival. David was a founding member of Knoxville’s Actor’s Co-op.
