I'll go ahead and start with the moral of this story. "Don't take all the toilet paper from the campsite into the woods."
Tom (our ex-president), and a few others went backpacking in the Smokies one weekend. We had a good day of hiking and absolutely put us in the middle of nowhere. We were on a "hard" rated trail that was left off of most maps. Great... So we're all off in the woods, no campfire because everything was kinda of dry. Late in the evening, Tom hears an internal call of nature and so picks up the "roll of necessity" and off he goes.
I guess he also want to go out to an overlook on his short trek.
Well, a few moments later, we hear what sounds like a deep yawn... Then we hear some hollering (which sounds like Tom), then we see Tom... Runs right through camp and keeps going.
"Nice boxers, Tom..."
Tom swears up and down there was a black bear right behind him. We never saw the bear and if there was one, he must have gotten scared off by Tom's boxers.
Oh yes... The toilet paper... Tom left it in the woods and we couldn't find it. Even though we scoffed at Tom's bear story, I don't remember any of us venturing far into the woods.
