Who are we?
A member-driven sports club, composed of diverse, open-minded individuals who share a common interest: the outdoors!
What do we do?
Our trips include, but are not limited to: backpacking, skiing/snowboard, camping, canoeing, caving, kayaking sea and
whitewater, mtn. biking, rafting, and whatever else you can think of. We highly encourage members to lead trips.
Membership
Your membership in the UT Canoe & Hiking Club brings you into one of the oldest and cheapest clubs at the University.
It allows you to participate in our official trips, which includes free gear rental of necessary gear. It also allows
you a discounted rental rate for personal gear from the UT Outdoor Center for your own personal adventures. Membership
entails our bi-annual club getaways, social events of enormous magnitude. And your club membership allows you to other
benefits such as first priority on large, planned trips, and of course the opportunity to meet new and exciting people.
To join the Canoe & Hiking Club, simply attend a meeting and sign up.You will need to fill out a waiver and give us a
copy of your health insurance card. Membership dues are $40 per academic year, and are pro-rated by semester ($40 in the
fall, $30 in the spring). Dues cover gas and lodging on club trips, discounts on gear rentals and membership card.
If you cannot make a club meeting and still want to join for a trip, contact one of the club officers. Don't forget to
sign onto our listserv (Mailbox) to keep up to date with events, social events and other important information. Club
memberships are unfortunately limited to University students, faculty, and staff.
