"One of the penalties of an ecological education is that one lives alone in a world of wounds.

Teaching Philosophy

My teaching philosophy has developed based on thousands of hours in the classroom as a student and as a teacher. I recognize that teaching provides a wonderful opportunity for faculty to influence student’s lives. The goal in my teaching program is to positively influence my students to better prepare them for both professional and personal challenges in life. My vision is to graduate students that are technically competent, creative problem-solvers, good communicators, and passionate about their careers and their lives.
