Clark Stewart has has taught Drawing in the UT School of Art since 1966, as well as regular workshops at the Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts in Gatlingburg. His activities in the Slovak and Czech Republics, and Hungary have included being a visiting artist at the Academy of Fine Arts in Bratislava, Slovak Republic in 1994, and in 1999 he helped to arrange, and later traveled to and lectured at the exhibit of Tennessee artists; Knoxville 7+2 American Visions, which showed in galleries in Bratislava and Kosice. His work has explored several media directions throughout his career but has continued to focus on narrative themes and intimate scale within a drawing/assemblage format. His drawings, paintings and constructions have been included in nearly 200 exhibitions worldwide, though much of his activity has been connected with museums and universities in the southeast.
