Course Curriculum Converted to Banner

The Master Curriculum was converted to Banner Production on 5 May 1999. Although the conversion was successful, the Master Curriculum did not contain all the information necessary for the modules in Banner to function appropriately. Therefore, much clean-up is still to be completed and additional data added, such as prerequisites and corequisites, cross-listings, repeat limits and restrictions.

When completed, the Course Catalog will provide the complete history of each course, both active and inactive, for academic units and advising centers to view. The academic units can use the Course Catalog when planning curricular changes. From the Course Catalog, the schedule of courses offered each term is built, and restrictions are enforced at registration. Faculty members, advising centers and students can see what prerequisites must be completed and which restrictions must be met before a student can register for a course. CAPP utilizes the Course Catalog to determine degree requirements so that a degree audit can be performed to ascertain what course requirements have been met and which courses must be completed. Two additional forms are designed to view and maintain the history of program and policy changes and the Councils' action on course changes.

The MasterCourse Workgroup is pleased that the conversion is complete and course information is now available to the University community.
