Undergraduate Mock Trial Organization

Membership Criteria:  Open to all faculty/staff members where appropriate, regardless of race, gender, disability, religion, or national origin. It shall only be appropriate for faculty/staff to participate in the position of advisor. To be eligible for mock trial tournaments, a student must be a member of the Undergraduate Mock Trial Organization. Membership can be revoked at the discretion of the Officers for such reasons as excessive absence, lack of preparation, and general mixonduct. Specific causes for revocation of membership will be enumerated in organizational by-laws. If such an occasion arises a meeting of the Officers in consultation with the Advisor and Coaches must be held before said member may be expelled from the organization.

Purpose/Goals:  The Undergraduate Mock Trial Organization at The University of Tennessee is to provide real, hands-on knowledge about court room procedures to those students interested in developing their public speaking skills for law or other careers and to offer opportunities for invitational, regional, and national mock trail competitions.
