Paul Bowman Steps Down as Development Director
Paul Bowman, development director for the College of Architecture and Design since November 2008, has accepted a position with UT's Institute for Public Service.
"I'm sorry to leave the college after such a short time but I know that Dean McRae, and my replacement will be able to pick up where I left off and carry the momentum forward," Bowman said. "I'll still be in the UT family so I hope to keep in touch with those alumni I've gotten to know so well. The college has some really outstanding alumni and friends."
In his ten months with the college, Bowman was able to get the ball rolling on several development initiatives, including the Design Legacy Society.
The Design Legacy Society was established as a program to honor and thank alumni and friends of the College of Architecture and Design who have arranged a bequest or planned gift to the college. Prior to Bowman's arrival at the college, no such group existed.
Dean John McRae and Bowman also travelled extensively visiting with alumni, visiting ten different cities and meeting with hundreds of alumni, donors and friends of the college.
"I was impressed with the changes Paul was able to implement in such a short amount of time," McRae said. "He had great energy and ideas for this college. We all regret to see him go but understand that his new position with IPS was too good of an opportunity to pass up. We wish him the best of luck and thank him for all that he did."
The college is currently searching for a new development director to replace Bowman. For more information about the open position, call 974-5267.
