Historical Archaeology of East Tennessee
Dr. Charles Faulkner
Historical archaeology research by Dr. Charles H. Faulkner is focused on the study of late 18th and early 19th century houselots and
18th century frontier sites in East Tennessee. Research has been conducted at several historic houses in Knoxville and most recently
the site of a late 18th century log cabin on what is now a main thoroughfare near the campus. Small archaeological projects are often
conducted by Dr. Faulkner in conjunction with his upper division and graduate classes.
