These graduate and undergraduate students from the University of Tennessee-Knoxville will travel to Tampa, Fla., to work behind the scenes at Super Bowl XLIII on Feb. 1, 2009. The group of seven students was chosen from three colleges: the College of Business Administration, the College of Education, Health and Human Sciences and the College of Communication and Information. A graduate student and faculty member from the Department of Kinesiology at the University of Georgia, as well as a UT alumnus, will also take part in the experience.

Team UT will be conducting research to see how a large-scale sporting event is prepared and carried out. Dr. Fritz G. Polite, assistant professor of sport management and director of the Institute for Leadership, Ethics and Diversity (I-LEAD) will lead the group. This is Team UT’s third opportunity to work at the Super Bowl, and this year’s team will be in Tampa from Jan. 27 until Feb. 2.
