History of Microgravity at UT

The microgravity program began at the University of Tennessee in 2000 when a team of volunteer students started the experiment entitled “Making A Mixing Measurement Of Two Phase Flow" (M.A.M.M.O.T.H. Flow). M.A.M.M.O.T.H. flew for the first time in March of 2001. Starting in the Fall of 2001 the microgravity project was incorporated into the undergraduate engineering curriculum as a senior capstone design project. Two other experiments, H.E.R.C.U.L.E.S. and S.C.O.P.E. have also flown. Details of all the previous experiments at UT can be found at the links listed below.
