To the students and friends of Adult Student Services
It is with immense pain and sadness that we must announce the closure of the UT Adult Student Services Center. This is an unavoidable result of the state and University budget cuts. All our programs, workshops, events, pre-admission counseling, and academic advising will cease operating on June 30, 2008. However, the final Adult Student Orientation (for Fall 2008 admittees) will take place as scheduled on July 7, 2008.
The Dean of Students Office in 413 Student Services Building, 865-974- 3179, will retain the Emergency Locator Service, and will continue to use the listserv as a means of communicating information of interest to adult students.
We strongly encourage all adult/non-traditional students to join the UT Adult Student Association (ASA). As an official campus organization, this group serves as a social networking and advocacy group for adult students. Please contact Elizabeth Courtney (lcourtn3@utk.edu) for information about ASA.
We ask that students take full advantage of services provided by the Student Success Center, Registrar's Office, the Educational Advancement Program, individual college advising centers and other campus offices for assistance.
Our office has served the adult student population since 1991. We will truly miss working with and assisting you in the future.

Mission
The mission of the Adult Student Services Center is to promote the intellectual, social, and personal growth of undergraduate adult and returning students, by serving as a central resource for information and support as they make the transition into academic life.
You are an Adult Student if you are:
- an undergraduate, 25 years of age or older or
- married or
- a parent or
- returning to college after having been out of school for several years.
