The Women in Retail & Hospitality Leadership Conference is scheduled for Thursday, October 2, 2008, at the Carolyn P. Brown Memorial University Center from 8:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.  Sponsored by the Retail, Hospitality, and Tourism Department at the University of Tennessee, this conference is an opportunity to bring students and industry associates together to discuss issues related to women who aspire to be leaders in the workplace.  The focus will be on the Retailing and Hospitality industries, but the sessions will be relevant to all students and business professionals (men and women). Topics will include leadership, issues of balancing work and family, career management, and overcoming barriers.  The speakers will share their insights to prepare students and to help professionals who may be experiencing similar issues in their career paths.

The event will begin with a continental breakfast, followed by general sessions, and concurrent sessions where the participants will choose from three topics.  The registration fee includes a buffet lunch in the Hermitage Room .  The conference will end with a panel discussion in the Shiloh Room.
