Master's ProgramsAdmissions AssistantshipsCourse RequirementsBiomechanics/Sports MedicineExercise Physiology

The M.S. program has a great deal of flexibility, which allows you to take courses that best suit your professional goals and interests. The M.S. program requires a minimum of 30 credit hours if you do a thesis, 32 credit hours if you do a project (we will go into the distinction between a thesis and a project later). At least two-thirds of the required hours must be taken in courses numbered at or above the 500 level. For more on the general course requirements for the M.S. program, consult the Graduate Catalog under the section "Requirements for Advanced Degrees". In addition, there are some specific requirements of the Exercise Science program. Each student must take 2 credit hours of ES 601 (Research Seminar), a 3 credit research methods class (ES 508) and do a thesis or project. Either the Thesis (ES 500) or the Project (ES 503) is viewed as the culminating event of the student's M.S. program and is typically completed in the student’’s last semester of enrollment.
