Introduction

The first Muslim Student Association was founded on the campus of the University of Illinois, Ann, Urbana-Champaign in 1963. From the minds of a few students came an association that has spread to myriad universities across North America. The MSA of UT has been blessed with a colorful fifteen year history. The basic purpose of the association is to increase awareness of the Islamic faith among the student population. For this reason, the association is open to Muslims and non-Muslims alike. Islam has long been a misunderstood religion in the west. We aim to set the record straight and clear up the many misconceptions.
