Bertha Estella Dossett Long was the widow of David Long. She was born on November 14, 1908, married David J. Long on August 26, 1930, and died on February 1, 1994. She worked as a clerk, receptionist and bookkeeper for West Knoxville Plumbing and Heating Co. during the period from 1951 to 1968. The plumbing company was located at 1514 Grand Avenue just a few doors down the street from where she lived with her family. She continued to live at the family home at 1504 Grand Avenue until 1966. The family then moved to 3906 Windsor Avenue. She was survived by all of her four children: James W. and David J. Long, Jr., and two married daughters. She is buried in Calvary Cemetery.
