- I received a UT Parking ticket. How do I pay for it / appeal it? Parking tickets can be paid or appealed through UT Parking Services. They can be reached at 865.974.6031 or http://web.utk.edu/~pso/. (back to top)
- I think my vehicle was towed from UT Property. What do I do? Call parking services at 865.974.6031. After 4:30pm Monday through Friday or on weekends or holidays, contact UT Police Department to inquire about your vehicle. Vehicles towed off campus are by a private service. (back to top)
- I lost my wallet, keys, etc. Who should I call? Found items can be turned into UT Police. Call 865.974.3114 to inquire if your item is at UTPD. (back to top)
- How do I get a copy of a police report / accident report? Call records at 865.974.0003 or come by UTPD Monday – Friday 8:30am – 4:30pm. Reports are released only after approval which may result in a 2-3 day delay in availability. (back to top)
- Do serious incidents occur on campus? The UT Police Department strives to make the campus area as safe as possible. Just like any other metropolitan area in the state, we do have crimes that occur on and contiguous to campus. Please follow the crime prevention tips to reduce your potential of becoming a victim. - Can UTPD officers arrest me? Yes. UT Police Officers are state certified, commissioned officers. All officers complete a field training officers program after completing the academy. Additionally, they are required to successfully complete a minimum of 40 hours of POST approved training each year. UT Police Officers have arrest powers, the ability to write citations, and other general police functions. (back to top)
- What is UTPD’s jurisdiction? Our officers are state commissioned and may enforce laws, ordinances, or regulations in any area they patrol. The department restricts reports to the actual property that the University owns. Our officers will respond to any crime in progress and take appropriate action. We frequently assign officers to portions of the Fort Saders community and at various establishments on Cumberland Avenue. (back to top)
- Where is the UTPD? The UT Police Department is located at 1101 Cumberland Avenue, Knoxville, Tennessee 37996. UT parking Garage 13 is located ion the corner of Cumberland Avenue and 11th Street and we are in the bottom of that garage. To access the public entrance to UTPD, you may enter through the main lobby on the Cumberland Avenue side of the building. The disability entrance is located on the 1st parking level at the elevators. Press the assistance button to gain entrance. (back to top)
- What are the hours of UTPD? UTPD is open 24 hours a day 7 days a week. The administrative offices are open Monday – Friday from 8:00 am – 5:00 pm excluding holidays. (back to top)
