About UTPD

The University of Tennessee Police Department is proud to serve the University Community. The UTPD provides basic police services to Tennessee's largest university. UT Police officers perform a variety of tasks which include: investigation of criminal activity, apprehension of criminals, accident and fire response, traffic enforcement, money transports and security for special events. To enhance campus safety, we offer motorist assistance for those who are locked out of their vehicles or who have a dead battery in their vehicle. The department's main objective is to provide a safe campus for students, staff, faculty and visitors. We believe that to accomplish this we must not only enforce the law, but we must also educate the members of our community on ways that they can reduce their risk of becoming a victim of crime. To accomplish this goal, the UT Police Department offers posters, brochures and seminars on a variety of topics; property engraving; statistical information and many other services through the UT Police Department Community Relations Unit.
