Elementary Education Concentration

Welcome to the UT Elementary Education Program

Elementary Education Programs are housed in the Department of Theory & Practice in Teacher Education College of Education, Health, and Human Sciences.  Courses in this program are available to students who have been admitted to a teacher licensure program or graduate education degree program.

Programs lead to Master of Science, Education Specialist, and Doctor of Philosophy degrees in Education. Two Master's programs are available: "Track 2" refers to programs for students who complete the fifth-year internship leading to elementary (K-6) licensure. "Track 1 " programs are available for practicing educators seeking the MS degree in Education.

Students in the Track 2 Teacher Licensure program may focus in one of five areas:

  • Individualized Instruction
  • Rural Schools
  • Small School Systems
  • Suburban Schools
  • Urban/Multicultural Schools
