Master of Science
Teacher Education Major
Special Education: Education of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Concentration

Track 1

Track 1 is for students who:

  • hold a valid Tennessee teaching license, or
  • are preparing to teach on the post-secondary level, or
  • are preparing for careers that do not require teacher licensure.

Thirty credit hours are required to fulfill the requirements for the Track 1 Master of Science and 33 credit hours are required for the non-thesis program. Two-thirds of the total hours for the MS degree must be 500-level or above.

For specific information about the Track 1 master's program, contact the program coordinator.

Track 2

Master's Track 2 programs are 36 hour (non-thesis) and 42 hour (non-thesis). Students, regardless of teaching area (e.g., elementary, secondary, etc.), complete a common, teacher licensure, core of 24 credit hours during the Professional Year (see below).
