Research and Development for 3 years with Olin Corporation in Monroe, LA. Extension Wood Products Specialist for seven years with the Virginia Agricultural Extension Service at Virginia Tech, Blacksburg, VA. Extension Wood Products Specialist and Professor for twenty-one years with the Tennessee Agricultural Extension Service and the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, TN. Retired from the University of Tennessee in 1995.
Returned to the Department of Forestry, Wildlife and Fisheries spring semester 1999 to teach Wood Properties and Uses and Wood Identification Courses.
Main interests: Wood Moisture Relations and Moisture Problems in wood construction, primary manufacture of wood products, lumber drying and log and lumber grading.
