Many consumers of wood products are not familiar with how to select, install, and care for wood products that they purchase and use. This unfamiliarity with wood products can lead to dissatisfaction with the product, short life span of the product in use, or safety considerations. Most consumers are also not aware of the fact that wood is the only renewable resource and substitute products are actually less environmentally friendly. Education includes the selection and protection of wood products used outdoors, home building materials, wood products used around homes.
