How to Check Out a Library Book:
Hodges Library, the University of Tennessee's main library, can be a scary
place if you have not utilized the resources before. One way to find a book
is to use the Library Website. This will take you
to a website that that lets you chose several different options. If you are
looking for a book then click "Library Catalog" located on the left
hand side of the screen. If you are looking for an article in a magazine click
"Databases". Then follow the directions provided on the respected
site. Upon finding an appropriate book write down the call number, title,
and author and take it to the library. There are six floors in the library:
the first two are computer labs and floors three through six contain books
and study rooms. If you cannot locate your book in the library, there are
librarians on the first and second floor that will assist you. Once you have
found your book, you can check it out on the second floor. There are two locations
to do this: the circulation desk and the self check out across from the circulation
desk.
