Throughout this section of the tutorial there are examples, videoclips, and still photos from an IEP meeting for Micah. She is a four-year-old child who has been diagnosed with autism and has been receiving center-based special education.

Meeting goals:

  1. to determine the child's placement for the following school year

  2. complete an IEP form.

The team selected a preschool special education class located in her neighborhood school.

The meeting began with Micah's mother signing the IEP, confirming that she understood her rights. The group moved on to discuss her present levels of performance.
