Denise W. Howell

Administrative Supervisor

Denise W. Howell is the Administrative Supervisor for the Exercise, Sport, and Leisure Studies Department. She supervises the support staff and work study students for the department and oversees the personnel and budgetary processes for the Department. She enjoys reading, sewing, and arts and crafts. You have probably met Denise at UT's Annual Crafts Fair, which she has participated in for the last 15 years.

Mrs. Howell is active in many social work and human services community services and charities. She is a member of the YWCA's Victim Advocacy Organization, a mediator and child advocate for the juvenile court system, and a public notary. She is also a state certified armed officer.

Denise received her Bachelor of Science in Education degree with a concentration in Human Services from The University of Tennessee.
