200 Special Topics:
Selected topics in various activities not covered in the regular program.
202 Badminton:
Fundamental badminton technique and game strategy.
206 Bowling:
Introduction to ball selection, approach, spot bowling, rules, and scoring.
209 Flag Football:
Introduction to individual and team fundamentals, rules, and strategy.
Folk and Square:
Folk dances from different countries. Two-step, polka, schottische, waltz, shuffle steps in square, mixers, contra, and round dances.
211 Golf:
Introduction to chipping, putting, full swing, rules, etiquette, and scoring.
213 Ice Skating:
Beginning skills in ice skating.
216 Martial Arts:
Special Topics. Selected topics in the various forms of martial arts.
222 Paddleball:
Forehand, backhand, drop, drive, and lob.
223 Personal Safety & Self Defense:
Personal safety and self defense techniques emphasizing precautions.
224 Physical Fitness:Conditioning
Program of flexibility, strength and cardiovascular endurance through exposure to various exercise forms.
225 Physical Fitness-Exerices to Music:
Total body workout to music with lecture emphasis on basic fitness concepts.
226 Exercise and Weight Control:
Fitness activities and basic fundamentals of nutrition for students interested in losing weight: includes body composition assessment and instruction on achieving a goal weight.
229 Physical Fitness-Jogging:
General facors relating to physical fitness with emphasis on the improvement of fitness through jogging.
230 Physical Fitness-Swimming:
An introductory course outlining basic principles of fitness, evaluation, and workout design in the aquatic environment.
231 Physical Fitness-Walking:
Course for those wishing to begin a fitness program; includes measurement and interpretation of fitness components.
232 Raquetball I:
Pass, kill, and ceiling shots. Basic serves. Singles and doubles strategy.
233 Raquetball II:
Stroke refinement, advanced strategy.
234 Soccer:
Introduction to individual and team fundamentals, rules, and strategy.
235 Social Dance:
Popular ballroom dance forms such as the swing (shag), foxtrot, waltz, cha cha, tango, and rumba.236 Softball:
Skills, strategy, and rules of slow pitch softball.
237 Stress Management:
Stress process and its relationship to disease and health. Coping strategies for stress management
239 Swimming I-Beginning:
Includes skills in the American Red Cross basic swimming course for non-swimmers.
240 Swimming II-Intermediate:
Covers strokes of crawl, elementary backstroke, sidestroke, backcrawl, breast stroke, entries, and turns.
244 Tennis I:
Introduction to forehand, backhand serve volley, rules, scoring, and simple strategy.
245 Tennis II:
Development of accuracy and improved technique of ground strokes and serve; introduction to volley, lob, smash, spin serve, and advanced strategy.
251 Volleyball:
Introduction to the skills, strategies, rules, and etiquite of competitive volleyball.
252 Weight Training:
Introduction to the principles of strength development for large muscle groups through the use of free weights and machines.
254 Yoga and Relaxation:
Introduction to yoga and various forms of relaxation.
255 Water Safety Instructor:
Prepares individuals to teach American Red Cross basic swimming and personal safety courses. ARC certification.
256 Lifeguard Training:
Prepares individuals with the skills and certifications for American Red Cross Lifeguarding.
259 Snow Skiing:
Development of skills necessary to balance, walk, and slide while on skis. Learn ski etiquette and "Skier's Responsibility Code."
260 Western Dance:
Popular western dance forms including line dances, western social dances, mixer's, and couples dances.
261 Scuba Diving
Theory, safety skills and practical appllication of skills to open water SCUBA diving.
262 Snowboarding
Develop skills necessary for balance and control in snowboarding. Learn the snowboarding responsibility code.
