Reading Assignment: Section 3.6

Please answer the following questions from your reading:

  1. Define "range" and "stopping power".
  2. Using the rule #1 from page 71 and Table 3.6 proton data, estimate the range of a 6 MeV He-3 nucleus in water.  Use 1 g/cc for the density of water.
