The MSA has been holding
weekly study circles for the past several years. These study circles
aim to better orient both Muslims and non-Muslims with not only a
cursory exploration of Islamic basics, but they also delve into
intricate Islamic sciences including history, spirituality,
jurisprudence, and contemporary issues. Each semester, they
successfully gather members of the Knoxville Muslim community, the
UT community (Muslim and non-Muslim students alike), as well as some
members of surrounding cities. In cooperation with the Muslim
Community of Knoxville and the Educational Initiative, the MSA
sponsors these great study circles at no cost! They include "seerah,"
the study of the blessed life of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon
him); audio and video presentations from well known Muslim scholars;
scholar guest speakers; student topics presented by MSA members;
Jeopardy Challenge games; socialization time, and dinner/snacks.
These are typically held in Anoor Mosque (located at 100 13th
Street, on the corner of Grand Avenue and 13th Street) on Friday
evenings. |
