Transfer students from Tennessee Community Colleges now have opportunities to qualify for UT's Guaranteed Scholarships. Please see eligibility details. Scholarships for Two-year Transfers with an Associate Degree: A minimum of fifteen $1,000 scholarships are available for fall-entry transfer students who are awarded an Associate in Arts or an Associate in Science degree. Preference is given to students who demonstrate outstanding performance and academic potential through completion of a transfer articulation program at a cooperating community college in Tennessee. Other A.A and A.S degree recipients can be given consideration even if an articulation program is not in place at the degree-granting institution. A student must be admitted to UT by April 1 to be eligible for this scholarship. The scholarship application deadline is April 1. The F. Rodney and Dell R. Lawler Scholarship, for a Pellissippi State Technical Community College transfer student, recognizes academic and leadership achievement for a greater Knoxville area graduate who also demonstrates financial need. The one-year award covers the annual maintenance fee. A recipient maintaining a 2.5 grade point average at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, may be reconsidered for renewal of the award along with other applicants. Ten scholarships have been designated for Phi Theta Kappa members who will graduate with an A.A. or an A.S degree or have completed 60 semester hours of earned transferable credit. Scholarships are open to qualified students from any institution. A GPA of 3.5 at the two-year institution is required, as is a letter of recommendation from the Phi Theta Kappa campus advisor. Stipend is $1,000 for in-state students, $2,000 for out-of-state students. The award is for one year and is renewable.
