Advising for Students and Teachers
Our professional advisors work with undergraduate students seeking
to become teachers, and graduated students returning to school to
complete a Teacher Education program. This office also serves as
a resource to currently licensed teachers, by providing help with
licensure renewal questions; academic evaluations and official plans
of study for adding new endorsements; and general information on
graduate program offerings related to professional education.
Service to Public School Systems
The Teacher Education and Professional Licensure office provides
assistance to public school systems by serving as a resource to
teachers and principals on licensure issues, and by facilitating
the hiring of individuals under alternative licensure options. This
office assists by providing a review of academic credentials of
non-licensed individuals who have applied for teaching positions
to determine their eligibility for alternative licensure programs.
The professional staff develop the required plan of study for all
newly hired, non-licensed staff and submit licensure applications
and related documents to the State Department of Education.
