Members of Amnesty International UTK began TASC in 1999 in order to
to work for the betterment of the University Of
Tennesee by understanding the relationship UT has to the rest of the
world. TASC focuses on the issue of UT apparel made in sweatshop labor conditions. The
University of Tennessee must be responsible for its actions and realize the power it has
in confronting the sweatshop issue. With the support of University
administration in conjunction with members of TASC we can work out
innovative methods to protect the workers who create our UT apparel.
